Email campaigns can be created both in the MyCashflow admin panel and also in Campaign Monitor's admin panel.

Creating email campaigns is only possible if you've paid at least one invoice for the use of MyCashflow, and your company has no overdue service payments.

Also, you must have the Email Marketing extension enabled to create email campaigns.

Always synchronize campaigns and recipient groups before editing any campaign or recipient details.

1) Creating campaigns in MyCashflow's admin panel

Email campaigns can be created on the admin panel's Customers > Email campaigns page.

  1. To create a new campaign, click New email campaign.
  2. Fill in the campaign details, and save the form.
  3. See the preview.
  4. Once you're happy with the result, send the campaign.

You can send the campaign right away or specify the time at which it should be sent.

Email campaign form settings

This is where you can learn about the different settings in the email campaign form for creating email campaigns in your online store's admin panel.

  • Campaign name: enter a name for the campaign. By default, the name is displayed only on the campaign list in the admin panel, but it can also be added to campaign messages.
  • Subject: displayed in the subject line of the campaign email.
  • Sender: enter the sender's name and email address.
  • Template file: optionally, select a custom template for the campaign emails. By default, campaign emails use the template from the enabled email theme.
    • To learn more about store and email themes, see MyCashflow's Designer Guide.
    • Email templates can be found in the theme folder files/THEMEFOLDER/emails/newsletter/.
  • HTML Content: write HTML content here which will be displayed if the recipient's email client supports emails in the HTML format.
  • Message: write text-only content here which will be displayed if the recipient's email client doesn't support emails in the HTML format. The textual content should be the same in both messages, so that your customers receive the same information about your campaign.
  • Recipients: select all customer groups that should be included in the campaign.

2) Creating campaigns in Campaign Monitor

Using Campaign Monitor is subject to charges. If you send campaigns by using Campaign Monitor, the incurred costs will be added to your online store's monthly fee.

Campaign Monitor makes it possible to create more versatile campaigns than the MyCashflow ones. For instance, you can use custom email templates instead of the MyCashflow default template.

  1. To access Campaign Monitor, in your online store's admin panel go to Account > Apps > Email Marketing.
  2. Go to the Campaigns tab, and click Create a new Campaign.

If you haven't created a campaign before, click Get started.

  3. Select the campaign type, and fill in the sender and campaign details.

The Regular option creates an email campaign similar to the ones created in MyCashflow's admin panel.

A/B test creates a test campaign in which some recipients are sent an alternative message. In this way, you can compare how recipients react to two similar messages.

    To continue, click Next.

  4. During the stage, Choose a starting point, you can define the campaign's design and contents.

From the menu on the left, select an email template. You can use a ready-to-use template or any of the custom templates created for your online store.

You can also create a HTML page outside Campaign Monitor and import it into Campaign Monitor by using the Import HTML option.

  5. If you've selected any of the standard templates, enter the campaign's contents.

To add new elements to the template, use the tools from the left-hand menu.

Once the contents are ready, go to the next stage by clicking Preview and Define recipients in the upper bar.

  6. Select the desired email lists.

Make sure that you've successfully synchronized the lists before selecting the recipients and sending out the campaign.

When necessary, use the instructions on how to create email lists.

  7. Finally, you'll see a summary with the email campaign details. From here you can schedule the campaign, send it right away, or send a test message.
