Synchronization is used for updating the campaign data and recipient groups between MyCashflow and Campaign Monitor, so that the subscriber and campaign details that are used by the two services are up-to-date. Carry out the synchronization process anytime you're about to send out a new email campaign.

You may also want to synchronize data whenever you make changes to campaigns or recipient groups. In this way you can be sure that you're sending the campaign message to the right recipients and that you're not sending the same message multiple times.

The synchronization tools can be found in MyCashflow's admin panel, in the left-hand menu on the Customers > Email campaigns page.

Synchronizing campaigns

Synchronizing email campaigns updates newsletters between your online store's admin panel and Campaign Monitor.

  1. Click the Update campaigns link on the Customers > Email campaigns page.

    The current campaign data has been updated between MyCashflow and Campaign Monitor.

    After synchronization has been carried out, you'll see a report with the updated details:

    The synchronization also updates drafts and unsent campaigns.

  2. To display potential new campaigns on the Customers > Email campaigns page, refresh the page after synchronization has been carried out.

Synchronizing recipient groups

Email campaign recipient groups can be managed both in the MyCashflow admin panel and also in the Campaign Monitor admin panel. During synchronization you can set a MyCashflow customer group to receive messages via the selected Campaign Monitor recipient group.

In the settings for the Email Marketing extension, you can synchronize customer groups with the desired recipient groups.

  1. First, create the desired email lists.
  2. Create the customer groups that should receive those messages that are intended for one of the email lists you've just created.
  3. To access the settings for the Email Marketing extension, in MyCashflow's admin panel, go to Account > Apps > Email Marketing.

    Here, at the bottom of the page, you can see all of your online store's customer groups along with drop-down menus with all email lists that have been created in Campaign Monitor.

  4. For each customer group, select the desired email list to sync it with. You can select the same email list for multiple customer groups.

    If you're not going to send marketing messages to a customer group, select the option Don't synchronize this group in this case.

  5. After selecting the groups and email lists you'd like to synchronize, save the settings.
  6. Now you can go to the Customers > Email campaigns page to perform the synchronization. Click the Update subscriber lists link.

    The new email lists and the recipients on previous lists have been updated between MyCashflow and Campaign Monitor.

    After synchronization has been carried out, you'll see a report with the details that have been added to or updated in MyCashflow.
