In this article, you'll learn how to manage your online store's product category menu. In your online store, you can sort product categories and create their subcategories at will.
In the MyCashflow default theme, your store's product categories are presented in the same order both on the product category list in the admin panel and in the product category menu in your online store's customer area.
To be able to organize product categories at will, you'll have to have the manual sorting enabled in your store theme.
Manual sorting can be enabled by setting the attribute sort: 'manual' to the {Categories} tag. If you don't have any experience in editing theme files, contact your theme's designer or our customer service.
Product categories can be organized in the left-hand Product categories pane on the page:
- Grab the
icon on the left side of the row. - To place the product category on the same level as other product categories, drag and drop it between two other product categories:
- To convert the product category into another product category's subcategory, drop it on top of that category:
You can also place the product category in the desired location in the product category menu even while creating it. Define the desired location for the product category in the product category form's Show in category item.
