Every online store needs shipping conditions for informing its customers, among others, about the online store's payment and shipping methods as well as related costs.

What kind of information should be included in shipping conditions?

Customers should be provided with certain information before placing the order (e.g. about the online store's payment and shipping methods). In practice, the best place for this kind of information are shipping conditions.

The Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority has drawn up a policy that specifies the information that the customer should receive before placing an order (chapter 6, Finnish only).

In MyCashflow, shipping conditions are drawn up in different ways for mono- and multilingual online stores. Both cases are illustrated below.

When drawing up shipping conditions for your online store, you can save time and effort by using the MyCashflow shipping conditions template.

1) Shipping conditions in monolingual online stores

If your store has only one store version, write the store's shipping conditions on the admin panel's page Settings > General settings, in the field Shipping conditions.

By default, there is a content page in the online store, on which shipping conditions are printed from the settings by using the Interface tag {TermsAndConditions}.

If the content page has been removed from your online store, you can create a new one at any time and print the shipping conditions by writing the tag mentioned above in the content field.

2) Shipping conditions in multilingual online stores

  1. If you've created multiple store versions, create a separate content page for shipping conditions. Give a distinct name to the page (e.g. Shipping conditions).
  2. Translate the page's content and title into all relevant languages if the store versions are in different languages.
  3. Save the content page you've just created and go to store versions' settings on the User interface > Versions.
  4. In every store version's settings, select the content page you've created for shipping conditions from the Shipping conditions menu.
  5. Save version settings.

Version-specific shipping conditions can be viewed by pressing the Terms and Conditions link at the bottom of the default theme.

You can also add the shipping conditions to other contents by using the {TermsAndConditions} tag.
