The product search for the MyCashflow online stores that have a paid plan has been renewed. With the update, the background technology of the search has changed. This contributes to further development of search functions and thereby enables a better online store user experience for both the customer and merchant in the future.
Renewing the product search does not require actions from the merchant. The new search has gradually been implemented in online stores from October 2023.
The visible functionalities of the search will not change with the update (e.g. the URL of the search will remain unchanged). Although the list of recommended search words is reset during the update, the recommendations start to accumulate again as soon as customers start making new searches in the online store.
The functionalities and features of the search will be actively developed even after the renewal. We will inform you about the changes in our software update bulletins.
The renewal of the product search brings with it improvements and new functions that apply to all online stores that have a paid plan. The most important are the following features:
Faster indexing
The changes made to the product information are updated in the new search almost in real time, i.e. with a delay of a few minutes. Previously, updates were only visible in the search results the next day.
Search operators
The new search makes it possible to limit word searches using the search operators shown below:
- Exact ("")
By placing the search term in quotes you can perform precise searches. In this case, the search returns only products whose information contains the exact search term.
It is thus possible to search for a product, for example, by its model name or product code.
Example: "iPhone 15"
- Inclusion (+)
The inclusion operator (+) allows you to search for products based on several different words. For example, you can search for products whose product details contain the words "shirt" and "black". All search terms must appear in the product information, but they can be anywhere in the search target fields and in any order.
Example: Shirt +black
- Exclusion (-)
If you want to limit the search results to products with specific words, you can use the exclusion operator (-). For example, you can use the operator to search for products whose product information contains the word "shirt" but not the word "black".
Example: Shirt -black
