Sometimes you may want to display, for instance, certain text snippets on multiple pages. Here you can learn how to use the same contents in different contexts.
You may want to repeat identical contents across multiple product descriptions, for instance. In such cases, you can use two tools depending on the format of the repeated contents.
1) Dictionary: creating reusable text contents
You can add text snippets created in the dictionary to your store's theme files to display the snippets on the page type that you specify.
You can use the dictionary tool in MyCashflow to create text content that you can easily paste into multiple content fields in MyCashflow. Dictionary entries can be used in great many of MyCashflow's text fields, e.g. on content pages and in product descriptions.
- Create a new entry on the page.
- Enter the text that you wish to display on multiple pages as the contents of the newly created entry. The example illustrates how to create a simple text snippet that uses text formatting. Make sure to save the entry.
You can use HTML markup to highlight words and Interface tags to add contents to the entry.
Entry length is not limited, and an entry can contain multiple text paragraphs.
Now, go to edit the content (such as a page or product description) where you want to use the entry that you've just created. You can use dictionary entries in many text fields, including product descriptions and content pages.
- Type the entry's dictionary code in the content field of your choice. The correct markup for entries added to content fields is
{%SananKoodi}
. - Save the content, and make sure that the content appears in the intended format in your online store.
2) Banners: creating reusable multimedia content
Banners can contain large images, text and even videos.
- Create a new banner in your online store.
- Provide all the desired content for the banner. The example illustrates how to create a banner with an embedded YouTube video.
The text field can contain Textile, HTML and Interface markup.
- Save the banner, and copy the Interface markup that is used for printing the banner.
Now, go to edit the contents (e.g. a content page or a product description), where you'd like to display the new banner.
- Enter the Interface markup that is used for printing the banner in the desired location of the content's text field.
- Save the contents, and make sure that the banner is displayed the way you wanted in your online store.
By creating a separate helper file for the banner, you can freely define the format of the HTML markup printed by the banner.
