If you use your store's versions as separate online stores (so that each store version has its own product catalog, info pages, settings etc.), you may want to define unique front pages for each version to clearly differentiate between them by means of distinct design.

If you'd like to create unique designs for version-specific front pages, you will need HTML/CSS expertise. You can also have your online store's designer do it or commission the project to MyCashflow.

To define distinct front pages, you will need the Web Designer extension. The extension provides a template selector and FTP credentials.

Creating a custom front page

  1. Create a new template to use as the selected version's front page. Add the template to the theme's /category folder.
  2. In the version's settings, select the product category that should be used as the version's front page as the store's product catalog.
  3. Finally, enable the template you created in the first step for this product group.

Templates added to a theme appear with a slight delay in product group settings because of the cache. Wait at least for 1 minute before you try to select the template.

If you haven't enabled the Web Designer extension, you won't be able to select a custom template for the product category.

The version now uses the product group of your selection as its front page with its own unique template. Repeat the steps for all store versions for which you'd like to specify a unique front page.
