If the online store’s email address in the store settings uses Gmail or any other publicly available email service, all automatic emails (such as order confirmations) will be sent from MyCashflow's own noreply address. The change came into force at the end of January 2024.
What is it about?
Google will now require that bulk email addresses are verified, i.e., that the messages are not sent in someone else's name. The addresses that use publicly available email services are therefore not suitable for mass mailing, because they are considered sent by Google, Yahoo or a similar email service provider.
The change came into force at the end of January 2024.
The change is in response to a trend that requires bulk email senders to improve the security of email users. Earlier, Yahoo has also implemented a similar change.
What is the impact of the change on sending online store’s emails?
If your online store has an email address that uses a publicly available email service, the store’s automated messages are now sent from no-reply@mycashflow.fi.
Messages using the MyCashflow address will also include the original sender's address (i.e., a Gmail or similar address that may have been set in the store settings), to which customers can send a reply if necessary. This ensures, for example, that on-demand comments will continue to work.
- If your online store’s email address uses your own domain (e.g. mail@company.com), you do not need to react to the change. The delivery of emails as before is ensured at the software level, and new changes will be made to further improve the delivery of emails.
In the future, you will be able to manage your online store’s email addresses on a separate settings page, and the addresses you enter there will be automatically sent for verification.
If the address uses a publicly available email service (e.g. mail@gmail.com), emails will continue to be sent from no-reply@mycashflow.com after January 2024.
However, we recommend that you set up an email box on your own domain (available through MyCashflow) to ensure that the messages are delivered. From a customer’s perspective, an address using your own domain is also more convincing.
You can subscribe to both your own domain and Google professional email through MyCashflow.
By using these you can ensure that your online store’s emails reach their recipients in accordance with Google's policies.
