If you don't wish to display a product that is out of stock or otherwise temporarily unavailable in your online store, you can hide the product without permanently deleting it.

Hiding a product that is temporarily unavailable often makes more sense than deleting it as it enables you to preserve the product's order history.

  1. On the admin panel's Products page, navigate to the product that you'd like to hide.
  2. Go to the product form, and remove the product from all of your online store's versions.
  3. Save the changes after you've removed the product from all versions.

Now that the product isn't visible in any store version, it won't be displayed on product category pages, product lists or in navigation. However, the product will remain accessible through a direct link.
