Paytrail contains all Finnish banks' online payment gateways, card and invoice payments as well as a Paytrail account.

This article deals with the old Paytrail extension, which is to be removed in early 2022.

It is not recommended to set up the old Paytrail. Use the renewed Paytrail integration instead.

Following the merger between Checkout and Paytrail, the old Paytrail will be removed. See also MyCashflow's notice about the merger.

A single agreement will enable you to provide all payment methods included in Paytrail services in your online store.

Using the service is subject to fees. You can choose between a monthly fee or provision-based pricing with no monthly fee.

Enabling bypassing the payment method selection page

Paytrail contains a setting for bypassing the payment method selection page that enables you to embed the Paytrail payment method selection into your store's checkout.

When the payment service selection bypass is enabled, the customer is redirected to the selected payment service's payment page immediately after confirming the order. Without this setting, customers are redirected after order confirmation to a separate page to select a payment option.

The service of bypassing the payment method selection page is subject to a monthly fee and has to be ordered separately. Order the bypassing service ›

The monthly fee for the bypassing service is €19 + 24% VAT.

For MyCashflow customers, no administrative charges are applied when enabling the bypassing service.

After ordering the service, you can enable it in the settings for the payment method that uses Paytrail by selecting the option The payment service selection will be bypassed.

You can also select banks and payment services that you'd like to enable at checkout.

Save the settings after enabling bypassing the payment service selection page and defining payment options.

You can also create multiple Paytrail payment methods with the same credentials. In this way, you can offer online bank and credit card payments as well as invoices and installment plans as separate payment methods.

Payment service selection bypass from the customer's point of view

In the default theme, after the bypass has been enabled, the customer can select the desired payment option from a drop-down menu displayed under the method that uses the bypass.

If you enable only one payment option in the payment method's settings, the drop-down menu will be replaced with that method's name at checkout. In this way, you can, for instance, set MobilePay as a separate payment method at checkout.

Enabling PayPal in Paytrail

You can use Paytrail to enable PayPal as a payment method in your online store, but this requires extra steps.

See Paytrail's website for instructions on how to enable PayPal.

MyCashflow also offers a direct integration with PayPal.

To use PayPal in MyCashflow, you'll need the Premier or the Business PayPal account.
